徹夜/通宵禱告會

在操練禁食禱告的時候，常常聽聞有關通宵禱告的事。禁食禱告的聖經教導比較多，相反通宵整夜的禱告感覺上較為少。究竟今天的教會應該通宵禱告嗎？通宵禱告是聖經的教導嗎？
 

稍為簡單了解下，我們觀察到以下之現象：

- 復興的教會差不多都迫切地禱告（藉禁食及通宵的禱告）

- 耶穌以身作則，禁食及整夜禱告（太4:1；路6:12）

- 耶穌教導人要禁食禱告（太9:14-15, 17:21），並且要常常警醒禱告（太26:40-41）

明顯地，若果我們花整夜的時間來禱告，我們很自然能有更多的時間與神相交，為各樣人及事情獻上禱告。

有見及此，我們嘗試於教會26週年的晚上(3月30日)舉行一次通宵禱告會，為家國，為世界，為教會，為個人/家庭等仰望上帝的面，求主賜下復興。

Praying, praying ... praying (Day 2)

Although I seem to be doing ok physically and generally am in good spirit, I have found I'm a bit easily irritated. Perhaps that's normal and it's when I need more of God's grace. Having said that, the desire for God is gradually growing and that's what I want to experience. Thankfully, I can also see a number of people sort of being "stirred up", eg Mr C and Mr S.

One of the highlights was when we got together a team of people who are responsible for organising an upcoming monthly youth celebration (with an evangelism focus) to fast and pray. It looked an ordinary prayer meeting outside in sunny South Perth, but I'm sure God has already started His work among the team.

I want to see more of God's work in our midst. Would you?

Grace alone (Day 1)

We had a great start last night at our church for the "21 Days". Around 100 people gathered together worshipping, praying and fasting.

For me personally, before that, it's all hard work, busy-ness and even a bit of physical discomfort (as I'm reducing the amount of what I eat in each meal). At this moment, I am feeling great both physically and spiritually, for which I give thanks. It's His grace and His grace alone. I know I can't try harder but can only rest and rely on Him to work in my life and those who love Him.

"I want everyone everywhere to lift innocent hands toward heaven and pray" (1 Tim 2:8)

21日禁食禱告守望

若果你是PAC的一員，相信你巳知道我們會於3月26日開始「21日禁食禱告守望」，這其實不是甚麼特別的活動，我們只是想透過呼籲教會全體一同專心尋求神，謙卑地來到主的面前，承認我們的過犯、軟弱與無能，並支取他在我們生命中的大能，經歷靈命的突破和更新，繼而為主得著更多的靈魂，願榮耀歸給主！

所以，我們懇請你考慮用以下的方法，一同參與:

1. 參加本週五 (26/3) 晚上 7pm 的禁食禱告會

2. 在未來數週 (26/3 - 16/4) 中，嘗試至少一餐的禁食禱告

3. 若因為身體的原故，不能禁食，則盡力委身地為著教會代禱守望

4. 參加4月16日晚上的見證禱告會，一同述說及見證神的作為

再沒有其他屬靈操練能幫助預備我們的手與心，像禁食禱告一樣，期待你的參與！想了解更多，可瀏纜此頁。

Watch out! It's a spiritual warfare. (Part 1)

My heart and mind became a little restless since I recently came back from holiday as well as a missions trip. While trying to settle back here at home, I became aware of the ministries and workloads that are lying ahead of me. I'll need to gather the leaders of different groups and ministries to concretize what was planned the previous year. I'll also need to lay down some clear steps for the major ministries of the church. In addition, I got to sit down with my seminary supervisor to finalize my research paper topic (and then start to do work on it). Heaps of other small stuffs are piling up as well.

Then all of a sudden, we had a close spiritual encounter. Without much foreknowledge, we thought we were praying for a troubled lady, but in fact it turned out that we confronted an evil spirit and by God's grace drove it out from her. The experience itself was tiring, and has caught us totally out of surprise. Yet with thanks to God, we were spiritually well in tune with Him. God's always on our side.

To put that into perspective, we then came to realize it's a spiritual warfare, in which all servants of God are always engaged. No wonder we had heard that our eldest daughter had nightmares a few nights back leading up to the "incident". Then she slept well and sweet for 2 nights, and again had another nightmare after I shared it with a rather large prayer group and urged them to cover us with prayers.

This is very real, up close and personal. We treasure your prayers for us and those who are serving Christ wholeheartedly.

"Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." (Eph 6:18)

"靠著聖靈，隨時多方禱告祈求；並要在此儆醒不倦，為眾聖徒祈求" (弗6:18)

Amazed by God's work beyond my expectation (Day 30)

I've been expecting and praying (due to my small faith) 10 people to fast & pray for themselves, their family and the church for 1 full day today (27/3).

I couldn't resist the urge to actually count the number of people committing themselves for fasting and prayer. The result is well over 10 people have attempted fasting for 1 full day. 

The next step, if God willing, is we hope to see 30 people fasting for 3 days in August. I'm convicted that these numbers could be artificial, but what counts is more people coming to God in humility confessing and repenting of their sins, and turning to Him for revival to their spiritual life, family and the Church.

Lastly, I've captured some moments of praying in tonight's combined prayer meeting at church. It's very well attended with approx 100. Glory to God!
