This week, I spent 4 days at Vose studying under Dr Haydn Nelson (a theologian and past Bible college principal, currently Exec Pastor at Riverview). It's about spirituality, covering topics including different Christian traditions, namely Charismatic, Holiness, Contemplative, Evangelical etc, and spiritual disciplines like fasting, study, prayer & meditation, simplicity etc.
It's good in a way that it provided me with a broad overview of what these are and how come all these have come into being. It prompted me to study a bit about my own denomination - C&MA, and I'm surprised to find that the C&MA has impacted greatly the Pentecostalism in the 19th & 20th centuries. However C&MA doesn't share much with the Pente nowadays particularly when some of the Pente's have gone a bit extreme re spiritual gifts.
Overall, it's a good course to do to enrich my understanding and knowledge in this area, but I got a couple of few thousand-word assignments to catch up following this course ..... 俾心機!
