Last year, when I was determined to share with the people about the benefits of fasting and prayer, a "number" came to me very naturally. I was expecting that in the first half of the year, 10 people from the Cantonese congregation can join me in a 1-day fasting prayer for our spiritual life, family and church.
It turned out today that when an "altar" call was made, 7-8 people raised up their hands showing a commitment to seek God's face in fasting and prayer. I felt excited because the number was close enough (to the original 10 I expected in 2008), but at the same time, I doubted why there are so little people accepting the challenge this way, and that it was less 10 people!?!?
I later realised through after church conversations that there might be 2-3 other hands which were only raised in the heart otherwise unnoticed by me while making the call.
